Maplin Unmarked 7 Segment Display

So I bought this as part of the LED/LCD Display Lucky Dip Bag (which looks nothing like the photos on the Maplin website) and the first problem I encountered as a complete novice was how to wire up the unmarked 7 segment display.  

I tried googling for variations on maplin unmarked 7 segment display pinout but had no luck so eventually I opted for trying a default configuration to see if it would work – SUCCESS.  You can use the following diagram (Provided by Engineers Garage) to wire in your display – Enjoy.   Note:  there is a very useful discussion on the PicAxe Forum Website.
